About LithX & Certifications

Is LithX a CPCB approved battery recycling company?
Yes. LithX is fully CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) approved and EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) registered for battery recycling in India. We comply with the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022 and operate under all applicable state and central pollution control regulations.
Where is LithX based?
Our recycling facility is located in Swaroop Nagar, Libaspur, North Delhi (110042). We serve clients across India through our pan-India collection network.
Do you provide certificates of recycling?
Yes. Every batch receives a Certificate of Recycling and full chain-of-custody documentation. This is essential for your EPR compliance records, ESG reporting, and internal audit trails.

Battery Types & Recycling Process

What types of batteries does LithX recycle?
LithX recycles a wide range of battery chemistries:

Lithium-Ion: NMC, NCA, LFP, LMO, LTO, LCO
Lead-Acid: Automotive, UPS, inverter, industrial
Nickel-based: NiMH, NiCd
Specialty: Industrial, telecom, medical batteries on case-by-case basis.
Are damaged or swollen batteries accepted?
Yes. We safely handle damaged, swollen and thermally compromised batteries using UN-spec hazmat containers and specialised salt-water discharge protocols. Please mention any damage when scheduling pickup so we can deploy the right containment.
How long does the recycling process take?
From pickup to final material recovery, the full cycle typically takes 7-14 working days depending on batch size and chemistry. Inspection happens within 48 hours of arrival, and payment is settled within 48 hours of inspection acceptance.
Why is lithium battery recycling important?
Lithium battery recycling reduces India's import dependence on critical materials like lithium, cobalt and nickel, prevents environmental pollution and safety hazards from improper disposal, supports the circular economy, and enables sustainable EV and clean energy growth.

Pickup & Logistics

Do you offer battery pickup across India?
Yes. We offer secure pickup and sealed transport from all major industrial hubs and urban centres across India including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and more. For remote locations, we coordinate with certified logistics partners.
What is the minimum quantity for pickup?
Free pickup is offered above 100 kg of batteries. For smaller quantities, transport fees may apply depending on your location. Bulk pickups are scheduled within 2-5 working days.
How are batteries transported safely?
All batteries are transported in UN-certified hazmat containers, sealed at origin and tracked via GPS throughout transit. Damaged or high-risk units are isolated in specialised containment. Every shipment includes a transport manifest and chain-of-custody documentation.

Pricing & Payment

How is scrap battery price determined?
Scrap battery price depends on several factors: battery chemistry (LFP vs NMC vs NCA etc.), age and state of health, weight, current LME prices for recoverable metals, and the condition of the cells. Indicative rates are published on our Market Price page, and the final price is locked in after our experts physically inspect your batch.
How quickly do you pay after pickup?
Payment is released within 48 hours of inspection acceptance. We support NEFT, RTGS and IMPS — no cheques, no delays.
Do prices fluctuate?
Yes, prices fluctuate daily based on the London Metal Exchange (LME) trends for lithium, cobalt, nickel and copper. We update our reference prices on our website regularly, and your final quote is locked in at the time of inspection.

EPR Compliance

Can LithX help with EPR compliance?
Yes. LithX is a CPCB-registered EPR partner. We provide full Extended Producer Responsibility documentation and EPR Credit Certificates to battery importers, manufacturers and distributors to ensure compliance with Indian environmental regulations under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022.
What documentation do I get for EPR?
You receive: (1) EPR Credit Certificate, (2) Certificate of Recycling per batch, (3) Chain-of-custody manifest, (4) Annual compliance summary, (5) CPCB portal upload confirmations. Everything you need for regulatory filing and audits.
Who is required to comply with EPR?
Under India's Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022, all battery producers, importers, brand owners and bulk consumers are required to fulfil EPR obligations. This includes EV makers, electronics brands, telecom operators, UPS/inverter manufacturers and battery importers.

For Individuals & Small Businesses

Can individuals sell old batteries to LithX?
We primarily work with industrial volumes (above 100 kg). For smaller individual quantities, we recommend coordinating with neighbours, your apartment complex or office to consolidate batteries — happy to discuss any sizeable lot. Reach out via WhatsApp for guidance.
I have an old e-rickshaw / EV battery pack — can you take it?
Yes, absolutely. EV battery packs (e-rickshaw, e-scooter, e-car) are exactly what we specialise in. Send us photos and the rough capacity via WhatsApp and we'll quote you a fair price and arrange pickup.
